Sammy himself was educated at Appleby primary and grammar schools but was bitten by the mechanics bug at a young age. While still at school he began working as a teenager for a local haulage firm at weekends and during school holidays.
On leaving school, he gained an apprenticeship at David Hayton's in Penrith where he served his time as a mechanic and worked his way up to being a consultant technician for Citroen. He continued to work for David Hayton for 11 years.
Sammy went on to join an independent dealership and established and managed its service department until 2014 when he helped set up a second branch at Carlisle.
Sammy and Lisa began trading from home in July 2017 while working to create their new premises which opened in September 2017.
The couple are grateful to both family and friends for the huge amount of help and support provided to give the garage an "absolute makeover" to create the workshop and car forecourt.
They aim to have around 35 cars in stock at any one time, and also operate a vehicle sourcing service.
In the workshop which is equipped fully with new state of the art modern equipment , Sammy will continue with his team of mechanics to turn his hand to servicing, repairs and MOT'S for cars and vans, supplying & fitting tyres & air-con regassing.
Sammy hopes the business will become known for its reputable, trustworthy and transparent service and such is the drive to do so every vehicle that is worked on within the workshop the customer will receive a personal video presentation identifying any faults found prior to repair work being carried out.
